On a cool, fall day a few years ago, I took my toddler for a walk. As I pushed the stroller down the hill toward our house, I saw a woman standing in front of my neighbor’s yard, staring at the ground. As I got closer, she stood up with a bright look in her eyes. “Bluebonnets!” she exclaimed, “In November!” I looked down, and sure enough, there was a beautiful cluster of brightly-colored bluebonnets (a strictly spring flower) in the flowerbed. I stuttered out something like, “Wow!” as tears began to fill my eyes.

You see, Mama, on that day I was grieving the loss of a miscarriage. Those flowers were a stunning love note from my Heavenly Father, reminding me that He can work in any circumstance to make beautiful things. He is not limited by time, the laws of nature, world events, or loss. Sometimes, in the most unlikely places, He creates the most beautiful things.

Maybe right now you are going through a tough time, too. You may be battling health issues, watching a loved one fight a serious illness, shouldering financial struggles, or dealing with strained relationships. As you look at your current circumstances, you may feel hopeless and defeated. But please remember that we serve the God of all hope! If you’re feeling weary and struggling to find a positive outlook right now, let me share what the Lord whispered to me on that chilly day a few years ago: “I can grow anything at any time. I can grow something beautiful in any season.” The beauty is coming, Mama.
