For years, my husband and I dreamed of building our own home. But while we saved and planned, I found myself saying things like, “When we have the new house, I’ll host more parties” or “Once we have more space, I’ll invite those friends over” until one day, my husband gave me some wise advice: “If you don’t do it now, you won’t do it then.”
Mama, whatever you’re waiting for, don’t put life on hold until you receive it. Start living now. Start hosting now. Start serving now. There will always be reasons to put things off. Don’t let this season of waiting stop you from doing what God has for you this very day, right where you are.
What are you waiting for, Mama? It’s time to start living!

The Gospel of John tells us that Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus...and that He waited to come to their rescue.
You see, Lazarus was dying, so his sisters sent word to Jesus, knowing He could heal him. Yet Jesus waited and when He arrived, Lazarus had been dead four days.
Your dreams may look four days dead, Mama, but there is nothing Jesus can’t resurrect with a single word. His delay is not a sign of his indifference. When He acts on your behalf, there will be no doubt it was done through His power and for His glory.

Waiting is by far the hardest thing for my kids to

Waiting is by far the hardest thing for my kids to do. Waiting for Christmas, waiting for friends to arrive-- it’s all so hard for their little hearts.
Waiting isn’t much easier for us adults. What are you waiting for, Mama? Another baby? Healing? An answer to prayer?
The phrase, “Wait for the Lord,” conjures the image of a watchman, prepared to run the moment he receives word. It’s a posture of readiness.
But when the wait is long, it’s easy to lose hope, to stop scanning the horizon. In these moments, we must “be strong and take heart”!
Remember, His eyes have never left you. He is with you in the waiting.

Here, the writers in the Psalms recall miracles God did many generations before. Their experience of God wasn’t just about what they had seen in their own lives, but what they had been told by those who came before them.
What miracles in your life can you pass down to the next generation? What can you do to mark God’s great work so His faithfulness is evident to those who come after you?
Take some time to think about the amazing things God has done for you. Is there one you can share that with your kids this week?

When was the last time you were in complete awe of

When was the last time you were in complete awe of God? For me, holding my children for the first time comes to mind.
In Exodus 14, the Israelites stood awestruck as the Lord parted the Red Sea and made a path from death to life.
The same God who told Moses to stretch out his hands to part the Red Sea gave his only Son to stretch out his hands on the cross to be our only path from death to life. When I meditate on what Jesus did for me on the cross, I find myself, once again, awestruck at God’s awesome and glorious deeds.
